Francis Coppola Winery

Visiting the Francis Coppola Winery is an adventure all its own. Loaded in the Alexander Valley, the Francis Coppola Winery is a great place to spend the day dining, relaxing, and —of course—tasting wine! The winery includes a pool, restaurant, and a gorgeous home to tour. The winery produces some of the best Monterey sparkling wines. Their sparkling wine variety is named after Coppola’s daughter, who was active in the movie industry. Sofia Blanc de Blancs is a mix of Pinot Blanc, Riesling, and Muscat wines. It has citrus, floral, and fruity flavors, including honeysuckle, apples, and pears.

Folktale Winery

Folktale Winery is located on a beautiful chateau estate in the heart of Carmel. The chateau was built in the 1980s, modeled after homes from the Bordeaux region of France. The winery changed owners in 2015 when its name was changed to Folktale Winery from Chateau Julien Wine Estate. The winery has a large event center for weddings, special occasions, and concerts. There is also a restaurant and boutique shops on the premises that sell home decor and handmade items.

The winery’s sparkling wines, Folktale Brut and Folktale Rose Brut, are sustainability produced at the vineyard. The Rose Brut stands out for its beautiful rose gold color and fruity flavors with hints of watermelon, kiwi, and strawberry. The Brut version has a more tart flavor, with hints of green apple, banana, and peach in every glass.

Saber Wines

Sword and a bottle of wine

Saber Wines is named after a French tradition of soldiers celebrating military victories by opening up champagne bottles with their swords. They harvest all their grapes from a single vineyard, Mesa Del Rio. They believe that the wine’s aroma is just as essential to enhance your wine tasting experience as the actual flavor itself. Saber Wines uses a traditional Italian method to make its sparkling wine. Their Brut Rose sparkling wine is made by combining Chardonnay and Dolcetto. It has floral and fruity undertones, including apple, pear, and strawberry.
