What sets this event apart from other classic car shows is that it does not just draw cars from the local area. Instead, car collectors from around the world come together to Monterey to showcase their vehicles at this esteemed event. Over the years, the fame of this event has grown, and now, car owners vie for the chance to have their cars compete in one of the top-ranking collector car competitions in the entire world. All vehicles that make it into the final round and are showcased at this event are judged according to their historical accuracy, their style, and their technical merit. In the end, only the best cars and motorcycles will be awarded. Special classes that will be at this year's Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance include Chapron Coachwork, 50th Anniversary of Fort FT40 Victory at Le Mans, Lamborghini Miura, BMW Motorcycles, Delahaye, BMW Centennial, Bizzarrini, and Two-Man Indianapolis Race Cars from 1930-1937.
This year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will be on Sunday, August 21st. The field will open to all entrants beginning at dawn and the judging will commence at 8:30am. At 10:30am the field will then be open to all spectators. From 1:30pm - 5pm, the judges will announce and present awards. This year, the showcase will take place at The Lodge at Pebble Beach.
