Are you a big motorsports fan? If so, be sure not to miss the Porsche Rennsport Reunion IV from October 14 to October 16 in Monterey county, California. Many vintage and modern race cars will gather with their racers at Mazda Raceway Laguno Seca in Salinas. The event is hosted by Porsche Cars North America and will feature models from this decade’s RS Spyder to the 956/962 of the 70s and 80s.
Along with the competition, all invited race participants will also participate in a concours d’elegance and other special activities celebrating the legendary 911 race cars. In the past, Rennsport reunion has been held in the East, but ever since 2001 it has been moving west to Monterey, California. “While the Rennsport name has become a staple fixture for international collectors and racers over the past ten years, choosing the Monterey Peninsula will open up this one-of-a-kind gathering to the many Porsche fans in California and beyond who were previously unable to attend,” said Detlev von Platen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Porsche Cars North America. “Now they’ll have the opportunity to see, feel and hear from up close hundreds of famous Porsche race cars and dozens of their drivers from past and present during a truly memorable weekend dedicated to Porsche’s motorsport heritage.”
The Porsche Race Car Classic is a concours held at Quail Lodge in Carmel on Sunday, October 16. Race cars from the break-out era of 1950-1965 will gather here by invitation although the event is open to the general public. Wine and gourmet food will be served. All net proceeds from the event will be donated to support lung cancer research.
