You’ve probably heard of beer festivals and cultural festivals, but what about an artichoke festival? Well, the Castroville artichoke food & wine festival is just that! The annual Artichoke Festival is an exciting event that celebrates all things artichoke. From cooking demos on how to cook with artichokes to tours of local artichoke farms, the festival is local favorite and is one that’s not to be missed! This year, the annual Castroville Artichoke food & Wine Festival will take place on June 2nd and 3rd. Be sure to stay at a nearby monterey hotel so you don’t miss out on the fun.

The Artichoke Festival is a fun mix of good food, live music, wine, and entertainment. If you have children, don’t worry, this isn’t like other food and wine festivals that are just 21 and over. The Castroville Artichoke Festival is family friendly event and even includes fun activities for kids including face painting, games and live shows over at the Family Stage! Throughout the event you can also enjoy live music over at the Main Stage. Some of the artists performing on the Main Stage include Bridget Marie, Wild Turkeys, Uptown Funk - a Bruno Mars Tribute Band, The Lady Gaga Tribute Band and more!

Be sure to stop by the Argo Art competition where people attempt to create three dimensional sculptures using just vegetables and fruits! There are also a number of arts and crafts vendors selling beautiful and original pieces. They make great gifts or souvenirs! There will of course also be food stands located throughout the festival selling artichokes in every way imaginable! If you thought there was nothing special to artichokes, think again! The annual Artichoke Festival will be located at the Monterey County Fair and Event Center for just two days only. On Saturday, June 2nd it’ll be from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday, June 3rd, it’ll run from 10am to 5pm. Mark your calendars today!
