Big Sur Half Marathon in Monterey Bay

The annual Ramada Monterey Big Sur Half Marathon is once again right around the corner! Whether you are a regular when it comes to running marathons or you are thinking about training for your first one, the Big Sur Half Marathon is a great race to consider. This year, the race will be held on November 13th.

One of the great things about the Big Sur Half Marathon is that the course of the race will take you through beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. As you run, take in the beautiful sights and the sound of the crashing waves. The half marathon is open to those who are 12 and older. In addition, the course and finish line will only be open to those participants who complete the race at a 3.5 hour pace. Your registration fee to run in the race includes a long-sleeve t-shirt by ASICS, a finisher’s medallion, a personalized bib, a race program and fluids along the course. In addition to these things, there will also be food and drink to enjoy at the finish line. Once you have finished the race, you can also enjoy entertainment and live music at the finish line! When you register for the Big Sur Half Marathon you also get access to the two-day Health and Fitness Expo that will happen that same weekend.

The course will begin on Del Monte Avenue and runners will head east. Runners will turn right onto Camino Aguajito and then a right onto Third street, which turns into Pearl Street. Runners will travel until they reach Ocean View Blvd and Lover’s Point. From here, the next six miles will run be run by the beautiful Monterey Bay. After this, runners will return the same way they came until the reach Lover’s Point. From lover’s point, the path will continue on the Rec Trail to Cannery Row.
