Saturday, June 28th marks the 2nd Annual Monterey Americana Music Festival, which will be held at the Monterey County Fair and Events Center. This is an event for any Americana fan or for someone who loves music festivals and wants to experience a new genre of music. It is a family friendly event that will be fun for all. Come out; enjoy the great weather, great live music, and the company of friends and family. The show starts at 10:30am and goes on until 7pm. Tickets are on sale now! If you plan to stay at a hotel near the Monterey County Fair in late June, then don’t miss this exciting music festival!
The Monterey Americana Festival likes to describe Americana as music that you can understand the lyrics to. So be prepared for a great time with great artists. This year, headlining the festival is Americana star, Dwight Yoakam. Other artists include Antsy McClain and The Trailer Troubadours, Jim Lauderdale, Hollow Wood, and Casey Frazier. Gates open at 9am and the music will begin with Casey Frazier playing at 10:30am. The concert will continue all day and will end at 7pm. Dwight Yoakam will perform from 5-7pm.
You can find parking walking distance from the Monterey Event Center, but if you’d like, you can purchase a parking pass for $20 for preferred parking. Tickets for the show range from $30-$75, depending on how close you are to the stage. You can either buy reserved seating tickets or simply get a general admission ticket and find a spot on the grassy mound. Bring along a blanket, some chairs, and enjoy the concert. If you get hungry, don’t worry; there will be delicious food vendors available. They will be offering all kinds of different types of foods as well as drinks. If you are 21 or over, good news! There will be a wine garden for you to enjoy as well as a full bar. Please remember that this is a family event and the goal is for everyone to have a good time, so drink responsibly.
